What are the benefits of Pilates?
Pilates uses a unique series of physical exercises that help to correct muscular imbalances, improve posture, co-ordination, balance, strength and flexibility. Pilates is more than an exercise programme, it educates a new way of using your body increasing postural awareness. A great deal of back pain comes from poor posture, by helping to realign your spine and improving your posture, back pain can be reduced or eliminated entirely.
Who can do Pilates?
The short answer is anyone! If you are suffering with back pain, joint issues, injuries or work related stress. We are creatures that are designed to move, without movement we create more problems within our bodies.
Group matwork Pilates classes are held at the following times and locations on a weekly basis. These are catered to all levels, from absolute beginner to more advanced work. Please call to check availability and book directly with the leisure centres.
