Monday 27th September 10.30am - 12.30pm   Get Together Mondays  - All about Bats! with Les Clark   Bats are amazing creatures, though they’ve had a bit of a bad press. They are the only mammal that can truly fly: one tiny bat was recently found to have flown 1,200 miles from Britain to Russia. They have an incredible sixth sense, being able to perceive their surroundings through echolocation with such accuracy that they can catch tiny midges in flight. You will then be treated to a full hour of group Reiki, beginning with a short guided meditation and a channeling of the energies which the group needs (you will have the opportunity to request a session for whatever you need, you can also keep it private and write it down on a piece of paper which you can hold throughout the session). Monday 18th October 10.30am - 12.30pm  Get Together Mondays - The History of Shrewsbury House with Andy BrockmanAfter a career in theatre Andy retrained as an archaeologist at Birkbeck College of the University of London and has been living and working in Shooters Hill since 2001.  He has undertaken projects with, among others, Woodlands Farm, and Plumcroft Primary School.  He is a member of the Board of Shrewsbury House and last year co-authored "The Buried Spitfires of Burma", the inside story of one of World War Two's strangest legends. Using old maps, photographs, and documents, this Get Together Monday talk will enable you to take a walking time machine into the past and show you how the history of the summit of Shooters Hill, including Shrewsbury House is visible in the landscape around us.
