Doriel School of Dance is a family run dance school which has been based at Shrewsbury House since 1986. We concentrate our teaching around the BATD syllabus, covering a wide range of dance, including exams upto teacher level. The informal atmosphere of the school encourages its members to enjoy learning within a disciplined and structured programme.

We welcome students of all ages and abilities.

About us

Since opening over 25 years ago there have been twelve pupils who have graduated to become fully qualified dance tutors and at least six of these have formed their own dance schools.

The school regularly participates in professionally organised auditions resulting in many students performing in ‘West End’ shows i.e. Starlight Express, Cats, 42nd Street, Oliver as well as TV appearances such as Family Affairs and Eastenders. One member has also qualified for entry into the White Lodge Ballet School.

When the Christmas season draws near the students are entered into pantomime auditions and to date the school has been successfully represented in local pantos each year.
