After the year we've all had, 8 year old Elissa must be the most positive person on the planet! She loves the place she lives so much she wrote a poem about it and here it is...

A Lovely Day

I love Shooters Hill and my neighbours are so kind,
A nicer place to live would be difficult to find.
Shrewsbury Park is lovely for a walk,
Stop and stroke some dogs and have a good talk.
With family and friends it’s always a nice day,
Shooters Hill is my favourite place to stay.

Shrewsbury Park in the summer,
Dog walks, fayres and runners.
Oxleas Woods in the snow,
Sledging fast down the meadow.
The Duck Pond in the spring,
Eaglesfield Park, slides and swings.
Everyone who lives here will say...
It’s always a lovely day!

At Shrewsbury House the events are always fun,
With classes for everyone, the cafe and the garden.
I love all the dogs that live in this neighbourhood,
I ask if I can stroke them, and it always feels so good.
With family and friends it’s always a nice day,
Shooters Hill is my favourite place to stay.

Severndroog Castle is so grand,
The rose garden, close at hand.
Lovely schools, local pubs,
Bowls, golf and tennis clubs.
VE Day parties in the street,
Shared home cooked food is nice to eat.
Everyone who lives here will say...
