Hi, I’m Donna Thomson and I love being a Cognitive Hypnotherapist.
I trained as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist after experiencing how it changed my life.
The birth of my son and the death of my mum within a very short time of each other left me with negative thought patterns that I just couldn’t shift alone.
I saw a couple traditional hypnotherapists, but it never seemed to help me get to where I wanted to be.
Then I had the good fortune to experience Cognitive Hypnotherapy and everything changed. In just a few sessions I knew that things didn’t have to be the way they were and I could take back control of me.
This began my journey on the road of self-development and I knew that if I had the skills I could help others to achieve their full potential and know that more is possible for them.
I am a fully qualified and insured Cognitive Hypnotherapist.
I trained for my diploma in Cognitive Hypnotherapy and NLP Master Practitioner with Mr Trevor Silvester who founded the Quest Institute at Regents University in London. Trevor is also a very well respected and published author and an inspiration to all.
I am registered with the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) the largest and most prominent organization for Hypnotherapists in the UK. Also, the Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy Practitioners Association (QCHPA) which through its own members of practicing Cognitive Hypnotherapists had a research study published in the Mental Health Review Journal which documents strong evidence that Cognitive Hypnotherapy works!
These organizations adhere to a strict code of ethics and practice and is a condition of my membership.
I am committed to continuing my professional development (CPD) so I can provide my clients with the most up to date and professional treatment possible.
I am friendly, encouraging and non-judgmental.
Most of the habits, patterns and beliefs that we have today were developed from our younger selves and carried with us over time. They weren’t developed consciously, they were essentially downloaded from events happening around us at the time, our parents, and from other people.
We didn’t have choice as to what beliefs were given to us, or what events were happening around us. Unfortunately, many of those beliefs, patterns and experiences were negative and have limited us in our adult life.
Today, as adults, we have choice over what beliefs, patterns and habits we want to keep or discard, and we have choice over the meanings we give our past experiences.
Overcoming limiting beliefs and difficult events from your past is something that Cognitive Hypnotherapy is especially powerful at helping with. It’s a modern approach that combines the most effective elements of NLP, Gestalt, Evolutionary and Positive Psychology and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to create positive change quickly and permanently.
We are each of us unique and the way in which we experience our problem is specific to each of us.
The flexibility of Cognitive Hypnotherapy allows me to change the way you experience the world and redefine deep rooted and long held beliefs that are no use to you. Empowering you with the knowledge that you can change the way you think and get on with having fun being you.
